Minnie C. Ashby FILLMORE--Mrs. Minnie Colgrove Ashby, 76, widow of Richard P. Ashby, died at her home in Fillmore Wednesday night of caused incident to age. She was born in Fillmore Sept. 25 1872, daughter of Parly Eugene and Helen McBride Col- grove. She spent her entire life as a resident of Fillmore. She was counselor in the Fillmore ward Relief society, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, for 11 years, and a member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She was married in the Manti L D S temple Nov. 14, 1894, to Mr. Ashby. Her husband died Oct. 15, 1920. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Geneva Steakman, Mrs. Fern Robison and Mrs. Alice Robison, and a son R. Eugene Ashby, all of Fillmore; 15 grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. Traffic Accident Delores Colgrove, 19 of Nolan Mingo County, suffered fatal injuries when her car collided head-on iwth an empty school bus. The mishap occured on rain- slickened U.S. 119 at Music Bottom in Mingo County. It is on Pigeon Creek near Belbarton. The driver of the school bus escaped injury. The victim recenty had been employed as a telephone operator in Salisbury, N.C. police said. He was born December 16, 1907 at Joseph Mills, West Virginia, a son of Mrs. Laura Underwood Pierson and the late Charles Smith. He had resided in Weirton for 28 years. He was married to the former Eva Colegrove at New Cumberland, September 24, 1933. Mr. Smith was a member of the Christain and Missionary Alliance church where he served as secretary of the church and assistant superintendent of the Sunday School classes. He was a member of the New Cumberland Lodge No. 22 AD and AM Osiris Temple A.A.O.M.M.S of wheeling, Wheeling Consistory Valley of Wheeling Orient of West Virginia, 25 year club and the Isu. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a step- mother, Mrs. Alice Smith, Steub- enville; two brothers, Douglas L.
