Lee officiated at the marriage of Miss Margaret M. McMahon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin F. McMahon, 161 High St., and Wayne Nelson Colegrove, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin P. Colegrove, 112 Grove St., this morning, Sept. 17, 1942, at 9 o'clock in SS. Peter and Paul's Church. Msgr. Lee celebrated High Mass after the ceremony. The altar was banked with gladioli, Pompons and Delphiniums backed by palms and lighted with candelabra. Traditional wedding music was played by Mrs. Clarence H. Kennedy. Mrs. George D. Sattler was her sister's maid of honor and Marvin P. Colegrove Jr. was best man for his brother. Lynn Colegrove and Joseph McMahon, brothers of the couple ushered. The bride wore a beige wool jersey dress, street-length, with brown accessories and a corsage of brown orchids. She was given in marriage by her father. Matron of Honor selected a dress of moss green wool jersey and brown accessories. Flowers in her corsage were gardenias and bronze pompons. A wedding breakfast for immediate members of the two families took place at the Mark Twain hotel after the ceremony. After a weeks stay in New York City the couple will reside in Alexandria, La. Both Mr. and Mrs. Colegrove attended Elmira schools. The bride- groom is not with the Military Police Division of the U. S. Army stationed at Camp Livingston, La. They seem to be pursuing a strategy of buying all competing genealogy resources on the internet and slowly phasing them out. Truly monopolistic behavior. Rant over. Geoffrey Earl Colegrove of Horseheads Geoffrey Earl Colegrove was born October 4, 1956 in Elmira, NY, the son of the late Earl and Marilyn Fisher Colegrove, passed away very unexpectedly on Sunday, August 23, 2009, at his home. His brother, Brian Colegrove, also predeceased him. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Sheila; beloved daughters, Carrie (Todd) Wenban of Vestal, NY, Ashley Colegrove of Horse- heads, NY; adored grand- daughter, Adriana Wenban; much loved siblings, Scott (Gina) Colegrove of Virginia, Bruce Colegrove of Indiana, Constance (William) Fell of Florida; along with several sisters-in- law, Brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews; and special canine companion "Scruffy". Geoffrey was currently employed with Behlog Produce and Son as a produce manager and has been a dedicated employee of the company for many years. He attended the Lake Street Presbyterian Church and occasionally completed much needed repairs at the church. He was a produce manager by day and a home improvement con- struction renovator by night. Geoffrey was an avid golfer and enjoyed the game tremendously. His family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, August 27, 209 at the Lake Street Presbyterian Church, 300 Lake Street, Elmira, NY from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. A Memorial Service honoring his life will follow the visitation at 3 p.m. The reverend Ross Raymond will celebrate Geoffrey's services. Interment will take place in the Woodlawn Cemetery at the convenience of his family.     3. Miss Nancy Claire Colegrove Bride of J. P. Vail Miss Nancy Claire Colegrove and James P. Vail were united in marriage Saturday, Oct. 10, at noon at a double ring ceremony in Out Lady of Lourdes Church. The Very Rev. Msgr. Leo G. Schwap, V. F. performed the ceremony and celebrated Nuptial Mass. The Papal Blessing was read. Music was supplied by Mrs. Joseph P. O'Neil, organist, and Mrs. Daniel F. Kennedy and John Bumbalo, vocalists. The former Miss Colegrove is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne N. Colegrove of 736 W. Gray St. Her husband is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James D. Vail of 989 Crestview Drive E., Pine City. Mr. Colegrove escorted his daughter to the altar. She was attired in a gown of white velvet over pellon and taffeta designed with a fitted bodice, empire midriff banded in Venice lace and accented with crystal beads. The dress also featured a modified scoop neckline, shirred elbow-length sleeves and a modified bell skirt cascading into a chapel train. Her bouffant elbow-length veil of English illusion was secured to an open crown pillbox trimmed with matching lace and crystal beads. She carried a cascaded of white roses with variegated ivy. Miss Kathleen M. Colegrove of Elmira was maid of honor for her sister. Bridesmaids were Miss Nancy J. Vail of Pine City, sister of the bride- groom; Miss Theresa A. Paluskieqicz and Miss Joy M. Colegrove, sister of the bride, both of Elmira. Mary Elizabeth Colegrove of Elmira, another sister of the bride was flower girl. Best man was Donald Harrison. Dr. LaVerne Colegrove Dies Result of Lingering Illness ----------- Well Known Physician Passed Away at His Home on Lake Street After Several Weeks of Illness Originating in May. ----------- Dr. La Verne Colegrove, a well known physician in Chemung County many years, died Wednesday night at the family home, 957 Lake street, aged fifty-five years. Dr. Colegrove had been ill for a serious complication following a severe attack of the grippe, which he suffered in May. He has remained in a serious condition the past four weeks. NATIVE OF BREESPORT. Dr. Colegrove was born in Breesport July 6, 1868, and attended the public schools in Elmira, later taking a medical course in the University of Buffalo, from which he was graduated in 1894. He returned to Breesport and commenced the active practice of medicine continuing his residence in Breesport until four years ago when he removed to Elmira and became associated with his sister, Dr. Emma LaFevre, with offices at 310 East Church street. As a public officer, Dr. Colegrove served two terms as a county coroner, and health officer of the towns of Erin, Southport, Baldwin and Ashland. In his fraternal affiliations Dr. Colegrove was a past master of Southern Light Lodge, F & A. M., of Breesport, and a member of Cashmere Grotto, M. O. V. P. E. R., of Elmira; the Elmira Academy of Medicine, the Chemung County Medical Society; the New York State Medical Society. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of this city. FAMILY OF PHYSICIANS Dr. Colegrove was a member of a family of physicians. He was held in high esteem. Dr. Colegrove was particularly well known in the Northern section of the county. He was honored in many homes as family physician and friend and he held the respect of all who knew him. He was a man of sympathetic character and his smile and word of encouragement carried good cheer into scores of homes. He is survived by his widow, a sister, Dr. Emma C. LaFevre; a brother, Dr. Larue Colegrove, and a niece, Mrs. Charlotte Gibben, all of Elmira. The funeral will be held at the family home Saturday at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. T. J. Bolger will officiate and burial in Woodlawn cemetery. Colegrove Sr. and Letha M Wiggins Norton. Mr. Colegrove was a carpenter for Bell Construction Co. of Carmel. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 41 of Carmel and a member of the Monterey Dart Club. Survivors include his wife, Patricia (Clearly) Colegrove; two sons, John Colegrove of Carmel and Carl M. Colegrove Jr. of Santa Rosa; three stepdaughters, Mrs. David (Kim) Mitchell, Cheryl Clearly and Patricia Clearly, all of Carmel; one stepson, Glen Clearly of Carmel; two brothers, Thomas W. (Smith) Colegrove who died on September 1, 1999. Mr. Colegrove was born on September 11, 1921 in Lawrence Twp, Tioga Co, Pa, the son of Dean Alfred and Edna (West) Colegrove. He was a farmer for many years and a school bus driver for 21 years for Northern Tioga School District. Mr. Cole- grove was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tioga. Mr. Colegrove is survived by a son Alfred D. (Dayl) Cole- grove Mansfield, PA; four grandchildren, Bill (Tammy), Karen, Dana and Lisa Colegrove; 6 great grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Velida and George VanHorn of Nelson, PA; brother-in-law and sister-in- law Bob and Marion Gee of Wellsboro, PA. Born July 3, 1938, son of the late Wesley and Leatha Colegrove. He was in the Army, worked at Finch Pruyn for 27 years and in the Elks Club of Glens Falls. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his great-granddaughter, Bailey Young; and his brothers, Thomas and Carl Cole- grove. Bill was a member and past master of the Elmira Heights Masonic Lodge 913. Mr. Colegrove was retired from Coca-Cola with 41 years of dedicated services. In his free time, Bill enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, but most importantly the time he cherished with his family. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service for Bill on Monday, Sept- ember 29, 2003, at the Oakwood United Methodist Church, 212 Oakwood Ave., Elmira Heights, NY. Masonic Services will start there at 10:30 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. Rev. Patrick Holder will be officiating the service.     3. COLEGROVE, Lorraine H. Age 69 formerly of Tioga, PA died after a lengthy illness Friday, December 2, 1994 at Bradford, County Manor, Troy, PA. She was the fice of the late Harold G. (Bill) Colegrove who passed away in 1986. Mrs. Colegrove was born in Wells- ville, NY on March 27, 1925 a daughter of the late Thomas Gerald and Mable Beatrice (Wagner) Hughes. She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Tioga and the American Legion in Tioga. Mrs. Colegrove is survived by four sons: Thomas H. Colegrove of Athens, PA, Dale B. Colegrove of Salisbury, MD, David L. Colegrove of Tioga, PA, Clark L. Colegrove of Apex, NC; and a daughtrer Peggy E. Cuneo of Concord, NC. She is also survived by eight Grand- children: Wendy Colegrove Blue, Shana Colegrove, Meggan Colegrove, Aaron Colegrove, Jason Cuneo, Laura Colegrove, Matthew Colegrove and Cassie Colegrove; a great grandson: Justin Blie; a brother: Stanley Hughes; two sisters: Mary Jane Eckard of Williamsport, Jean Aukee of El Cajon, CA.
