"Butch" Colby Jr., 59, died peacefully at home March 13. Born in Portsmouth, N.H., March 20, 1944, Mr. Colby was the son of the late Albert E. Sr. and Martha U. (Ennis) Colby. Mr. Colby worked at Lucent Technologies for 20 years as a materials handler before his retirement in 2001. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and camping with his family in younger years. Besides his former wife and friend, Sharon Colby of Haverhill, he leaves sons, Robert A. Colby and fiancee, Lisa McClanahan, of Haverhill, Brien E. Colby and fiancee, Tanya Harris, of Brockton and Keith S. Colby and companion, Kristy Wright, of Methuen; daughter Michelle A. Colby and companion, Anthony Grabiec, of Haverhill, brothers and sisters, Marcia Fiasconaro and husband, Tony, of Massachusetts, Richard Colby of New Hampshire, David Colby and fiancee, Renee, of Minnesota, Nancy McKay and husband, Chuck, of New Hampshire, David Goodwin and wife, Pam, of Florida, Blanche Anderson and husband, Jim, of North Carolina, Phyllis Randall of New Hampshire and Fred Goodwin and wife, Victoria, of Missouri; 12 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Bldg. 9, Lawrence, MA 01843. Arrangements by Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main St., Haverhill. Burial was in Florida.
