I am trying at present to corrolate as much information as possible so as to track the spread of the family from Norfolk. As you might be aware I am writing a small (actually not so small!) illustrated history and would be more than delighted to share my findings with you. Isn't it interesting that there is a small village by the name of Colby only 15 miles from where the first Colbys are recorded? Of course many family names are place patronymic in origin.
