Cause of death was unavailable. She was born in Park River, N.D., and moved to Boise, Idaho, in 1940 and to Silverton in 1943. She attended Silverton High School, married Monty 'Mac' in 1949 and was a bookkeeper. She lived in six states, traveled to New Zealand after she retired and enjoyed crafts, crocheting, quilting and oil painting. Survivors include her husband; sons, David of Kennewick, Wash., and Monty of The Dalles; daughters, Terri Hays of Kennewick, Barbara Byers of Vancouver, Wash., and Karen Wood of Turner; sisters, Doris Wright and Viola Lauderdale, both of Salem, and Marlis Denley of Gilbert, Ariz.; brothers, Larry Barstad of Silverton, and Harvey Barstad of The Dalles; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Bethany Pioneer Cemetery in Silverton. Arrangements are by Unger Funeral Chapel, Silverton.
