I ordered George Colby's civil war pension file from NARA thinking that he was my ancestor George H. Colby. He was not. Anyway, in case it may help someone else here is some of the information: George B. Colby of Company D., Regiment 21 of the Pa. Vol. Died Jan. 16, 1907. Killed in accident of exploding gasoline fire in Kansas. In 1902 was living in Wyoming. Widow, Emma S. Downey, Married Franklin County, Pa. November 14, 1872. Sister, Anna Hacker Sister, Malinda Swartz Sister, Kate Wertz (these three from Kansas) Sister Margaret Boggs Sister,Charlotte Lauly, these 2 of Pa. Sister, Mary Metcalf of Maryland Brother, Theodore Colby Daughter, Lillian E. m. Herbert Dyer Son, Arthur D. Daughter, Blanche Son, Burns Son, John B. Hope this helps someone. Jackie
