This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Colby, Coulby + many others! Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/wQJ.2ACEB/699 Message Board Post: Hi all, My name is Christina Coulby. I live in Leeds (England), i have recently picked up looking at my family tree. A relative of mine (i think my grandfathers cousin) set about collecting information on the Colby/Coulby tree some years back and i have the results of his searching plus a little extra which i have managed to pull together! Ideally i would like to make add as many branches and connection to 'The Colby/Coulby Family Tree' as possible, wether direct (one line) realtion to me or indirect (eg cousins uncles brothers nephews granmother etc!) I know there is a fair bit of information on this website already (which i have only just begun to slog through) but if anyone is interested in this plight feel free to e-mail me, either to offer info or for a copy of the family tree as i have it at present! (which seems somewhat bare!). The tree so far resides back as far as a William Colby (will-1547) who married Cicely (died a widow in Westbourgh 1573) right down until myself - including the name change from Colby to Coulby around the 1770's. Along the tree i do have information on siblings of my direct route and in some cases their marriages/children. Please e-mail me if you are interested in any information. Tina C. Surnames also included in the tree so far: Beasley, Benson, Blamire, Bourne, Burbut, Burrows, Bydalli, Calthrop, Castletine, Cheriton, Clarke, Clifton, Coddington, Coulson, Daville, Day, Dickinson, Dixon, Dobson, Edwardes, Edwards, Gibson, Good, Gunne, Hackney, Hanger, Hardarcher, Hill, Holt, Howard, Jackson, King, Lake, Lee, Lillie, Mallinson, McCarthy, Middlebrooke, Mills, Morris, Newal, Osbourne, Page, Palmer, Pearson, Pickard, Pickering, Renold, Rigden, Rimmington, Robbinson, Scott, Smith, Spencer, Stowe, Taylor, Thompson, Thorold, Town, Wainwright, Wallbank, Webber, Wellington, Wheatcroft, Wigglesworth, Willerton, Winifred, Withers
Hi Tina, I would love a copy of your tree. Do you know where William was born? The best place in the states to look is a website called Colby family and others by Ronald colby. I don't have the proper web site, but in my opinion, I feel that it is the best. I am updating my tree at the moment as I just did a transfer and lost some of the information, but I can send you what I have in a week or two. Yes, the Colby website is superior in my opinion also. It's http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~colby/colbyfam/index.html Al Sawyer ----- Original Message ----- From: "Matthew D.
