Freeborn Oct. 31, 1914-Jan. 19, 2005 Irene G. Freeborn, age 90, of Mt. Pleasant, Mich., passed away on Wed., January 19, 2005 at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility in Mt. Pleasant. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Helms Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Mr. Ivan Odor of the First Church of Christ will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. Friends may gather with the family on Friday, January 21, 2005 from 3-8 p.m. The family has asked that memorial contributions be directed to the First Church of Christ in Irenes memory. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Irene was born on Saturday, October 31, 1914 in Mt. Pleasant, Mich., the dauther of John and Mabel (Graham) Colby. On March 14, 1942, she married Charles W. Freeman in Mt. Pleasant. She lived most of her life in Mt. Pleasant. Irene was a member of the First Church of Christ. She enjoyed her grandchildren, sewing, baking and cooking. She was a Sunday school teacher. ! For several years, she worked as a General Telephone operator, and for 18 years as a cook for the Mt. Pleasant Public Schools in the Central Kitchen. Survivors include her son, Roy Freeborn of Mt. Pleasant; her daughter, Elaine and Tim Foltz of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Marguerite Turner of Alma; and three grandchildren: Mike Freeborn, Kari Folz, and Kyle Foltz.
