A native of Black Brook, Mrs. Stewart was living in Greensboro, Md., at the time of her death. She retired in 1990 as a secretary and librarian after 10 years with Community-General Hospital. She previously operated Buttons Grocery Store in Sauquoit from 1966 to 1973. Mrs. Stewart was a 1942 graduate of Ausable Forks High School. Mrs. Stewart was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ridgely, Md. Surviving are her husband, Charles E. Jr.; a son, Charles D. of Syracuse; four daughters, Kathleen "Betty" Vaccarelli of Frankfort, Barbara Jean Inserra of Poland, N.Y., Ruth Ann Lopez of Syracuse and Carol Louise Simchik of Durhamville; a sister, Nancy Czerkies of Annapolis, Md.; 22 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ridgely. Burial is in Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery, Md. Calling hours will be 10 to 11 a.m. today in the church. Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2 Reservoir Circle, Suite 203, Baltimore 21208. Fleegle-Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro, has charge of arrangements. (NOTE: Daughter of Cassius Button and Mildred Colby)
