Denison July 17, 2005 STERLING, Colo. - Jureen A. Denison, 76, of Sterling, Colo., died [27 Jun 2005] at the Sterling Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born on Sept. 26, 1928, in West Topsham, Vt., the daughter of the late Calvin J. and Hazel Bell (Hood) Colby. She graduated from Bradford Academy. She was a homemaker, chambermaid, librarian and organist. On Aug. 15, 1947, she married Laurence J. Denison in Washington, Vt. In 1966, they moved from Morrisville to Skagway, Ala., where Mr. Denison worked on the White Pass and Yukon railroad. They retired to Sterling in 1978. Her hobbies included crossword puzzles and vegetable and flower gardening. She was an organist for the First Assembly of God Church in Sterling. She was an auxiliary member of the VFW Post in Morrisville. She leaves twin children, Alan Denison of Lacy, Wash., and Ellen Dunkling of Graniteville, Vt; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and a sister, Arber Teja of Toms River, N.J. She is predeceased by her husband Laurence on Jan. 23, 1999, and her sister, Arlene Hutchinson. A celebration of her life will take place on Aug. 6, at 10:30 a.m. at the New Life Worship Center on Trow Hill in Barre with a burial to be followed in the West Topsham Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Gideon's International or the Building Fund of the First Assembly of God Church in Sterling, Colo.
