"Jack" Colby 8 May 1915 - 13 Mar 2009 COLBY John H. ("Jack"), 93, Lexington, died on March 13, 2009. Before moving to Lexington in 1994, he lived his entire life in Littleton, NH where he graduated high school and enjoyed a lifetime of journalism. He was Editor of the Littleton Courier for 40 years and following retirement was a contributing writer for 29 years up to the time of his death to his weekly column, "Mountain Musing". Jack was an active Rotarian for 62 years living up to the club motto "Service Above Self". An avid photographer and bowler, he loved to play card games and watch sporting events with his great-grandsons. Survivors include his wife, Ruth; sister, Eleanor Gardner of Franconia, NH; son, Wesley J. (Gayle) Colby of Laconia, NH; daughter, Pamela (Michael) Pepper of Lexington; two grandchildren, Meredyth (Timothy) Davis of Lexington, and Robert (Kristin) Pepper of Mechanicsburg, PA; five great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter. Memorial service on Sun, March 22 at 2pm conducted by Dr. Ellsworth Kalas of Faith Fellowship Church, held at Seventh-day Adventist, Lane Allen Rd, Lexington.
