Her funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday at Connors Funeral Home, with burial in Deep Creek Cemetery. Survivors include two sons, Lynn Everett Colby (Donna) and Claude "Butch" Eldon Colby (Diana) of Townsend; three daughters, Lois C. Magdall (Ken) of Townsend, Loretta Mae Marsicano (Jack) of Sanderson, Texas, and Melba Ardene Pedersen (Curtis) of Whitefish, Mont.; a brother, Jean Allen Shipp of Sheridan, Mont.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Dorothy was born Jan. 11, 1913, in Culbertson, Mont., to John Thomas Shipp and Lena May Shipp. She was the oldest of five children. Dorothy was first a housewife and devoted mother. She spent many years cleaning doctors', dentist's and newspaper offices in the Bitterroot. She worked at the Children's Orphan Home in Twin Bridges, and for many clients in Townsend. She was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Dorothy was loved by many for her quick mind and beautiful stories of the past. She will be missed for the love and kindness she gave for years to her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lena; husband Elmer; three sisters, Byrdie Alene, Bessie Louise and Tynie Leona; and a grandson, Bryce Colby.
