Hi Guy: Yes I know that and have the entire line, he apparently had some debts and fled NH with his kids by his first wife and settled in Pa. and married Catherine Gift who came from a prominent German settler family, their son George Colby had 9 children with Anna Fox. It is the 9 children who scattered all over the place. My late father was fond of telling about visiting his Colby cousins around 1920 with his father and in the families Stanley's Steamer from Carroll Co., Md. (a distance of about 45 miles) it took them all day and they took 14 extra tires for blowouts, roads were few and mostly they used cow paths etc. I long ago found Goerge Colby's house in Fayetteville, Pa. it was and still is a huge 2 1/2 story nall brick house which was originally on several acres of land. Today a bunch of red necks live it it and the pl;ace looks like hell. Gordon ----- Original Message ----- From: "Guy I.
