After a courageous battle with illness, he has gone to race in a better place with his late brother David and nephew Jason. Scott was born in Concord on 27 Dec 1961. At a young age, Scott developed a passion for racing that he shared and passed on for future generations. To Scott, racing was not only a family pastime, but a way of life. Scott will be remembered for his kind heart, compassion, strength and his unfailing individuality. To his children and grandchildren, whom he referred to as "Papa's angels," he will always be remembered as the hero. Colby, 84, went to be with her husband, Roy J. Colby, and Jesus on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009. Annie died at home after months of loving care by family members. She was born in Lisburn, County Down, Northern Ireland on April 22, 1924, one of seven children of Robert and Annie (McCourt) Curry. Annie attended school in Ireland and worked at a World War II aircraft factory near Belfast, Northern Ireland. During this time she met her future husband of 52 years, Roy J. Colby, stationed in Ireland. After coming to America in 1946, she proudly became a U.S. citizen in 1958. She worked for Sylvania in Hillsboro for 23 years, followed by a time working with her husband for Intrepid Farms in Hillsboro and also in Carpenteria, Calif., for a few years, eventually retiring in Hillsboro. Nan, as commonly known by family and friends, loved to knit and crochet for her children and grandchildren. Visits from family were very special, and listening to Irish music was well loved. Nan was predeceased by her husband Roy J. Colby, two brothers Joseph and Lawrence, and three sisters Peggy Bell, Sally Clements, and Frances Craig. She is survived by one brother, Bertie Curry of Lisburn, Northern Ireland; her son, Melvin, R. Colby of Deering; and two daughters, Palmla C. Burt of Orange, Vt., and Sylvia A. Carolyn was born in Seattle, Washington on May 17, 1918, the daughter of William and Alice Colby. She will be remembered for her enduring optimism, her devotion to friends and family and the grace with which she faced life's tragedies. Carolyn attended Garfield High School and the University of Washington. She joined the Delta Gamma sorority, served as an ASUW officer and graduated from the UW in 1939. Carolyn had the good fortune to love and be loved by two good men. In 1942, she married UW and Garfield classmate, Otis F. Lamson, Jr., a dedicated engineer, skier and sailor. Carolyn shared Otis' love of the mountains and waters of the Pacific Northwest. Together they had five children, moving their young family to Mercer Island in 1950. They raised their family, built a successful manufacturing business, Lamson Products Company, and partnered in the design and construction of a legendary sloop, the "Sea Fever". They were active in skiing and sailing communities, activities that they enthusiastically shared with their children and friends. After Otis' death in 1972, Carolyn married John A. Schwager, of Seattle, an independent real estate businessman and avid golfer. John had recently lost his beloved first wife, Dorothy (Hemphill). Carolyn and John found solace with each other and embraced an active, adventurous life while they shared the joys of grandchildren and their first great grandchild. Throughout her lifetime, Carolyn remained active in numerous community organizations including the Dr. Charles B. Ford Children's Hospital Guild, the Phoebe Foundation, an independent philanthropic group, the Garden Club Arboretum Unit #18, the Women's University Club and chorus and the Delta Gamma sorority. Carolyn was preceded in death by her first husband, Otis F. Lamson, her sons Donnie and Norrie, and her five siblings. Carolyn is survived by her husband John A. Schwager, her children Gloria Lamson of Pt. Townsend, Christine Lamson (Patrick Gordon) of Seattle, and Charles Lamson (Alberta) of Santa Fe, New Mexico, John's children, Dr. Steven Schwager (Annie) of Bainbridge Island, Bruce Schwager (Christine) of Whidbey Island, John Schwager, Jr. (Maria) of Bellevue, ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild, much loved nieces, and extended family members. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Roseberry's Funeral Home in Friendship. The Rev. Sam Downey will officiate. Interment will be in Easton Cemetery, in the Adams County town of Easton. Eva was born June 27, 1918, in Grand Marsh, to George and Louise Emma (Engnath) Colby. She married William C. McChesney on Jan. 28, 1936, in Adams. He preceded her in death. She was a homemaker. Survivors include three daughters, Eveleen Ketchum, and Maxine McChesney, both of Poynette, and Joelle Arentson of Madison; one son, William D. (Susan) of Grand Marsh; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ed Colby of Nekoosa, and one sister, Lou Ann (Robert) Schaetzka of Oxford.
