In 1943 he and his wife purchased a farm northwest of Inavale in Webster County. In 1983 they bought a home in Red Cloud. They continued to maintain the farm. Survivors are his wife; one daughter, Alta Colby of Inavale; two sons, Melvin of Lansing, Kan., and Larry of Rock Spring, Wyo.; one brother, Delmer Hoyt of Shingletown, Calif.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was also the person that helped get the "Smoke Piercing Camera" for the fire department. Mrs. Adams was predeceased by two brothers, Carroll and Arthur Dow; and a sister, Alice Canavan. In May 1998, she entered the Goli Medical Center. Survivors include 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in July 1963; an infant daughter; two sons, Carl and Franklin; her parents; two sisters; and three brothers. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Pleasant Valley Gospel Church near Brewster with the Rev. Don Schauda officiating. Burial will be in the Brewster Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow.
