    3. Sioux and others, Yes, I'm a Durangoan and I read the postings on this list. I'd be happy to try and locate the obituary for you. FYI--The best local access I've found to the old Durango newspapers is the public library. I can scan them on microfilm and make copies. The only problem is that they aren't indexed and the film quality is often poor, thus difficult to read (this is especially true for papers prior to the turn-of-the-century). There are also some gaps in dates. For the most part, however, I've been able to find most obituaries that have been requested (as long as the requester knows the approximate date). Is anyone on this list actually located in Durango? I'm trying to find old newspapers. I checked the web site for the state historical society; they charge $50.00 for an interlibrary loan of microfilm, which is pretty pricey. I'm interested in obtaining an obituary for: Daniel J. BLACKBURN died in Durango on 11 October 1895 Please let me know if a local society or library might have copies. Addresses would be much appreciated! Thanks very much, -- Sioux L. 3. Ann, I also would "love" to have you check for an obit for me. My Esther "Harriet" Bass died in Durango on December 23 of 1890 and is buried in the Pine River Cemetery. Thank you so much.
