He wasn't in the 1895 directory and there wasn't one for 1896. In 1897 he is listed as a miner living at 131 E 4th. In 1898 they are living at 411 E 6th. In 1899 he moved to 208 E 5th and is also there in 1900. In 1900 it says he works for a company called Mining & Leasing Co. I checked the next two years and he isn't in Leadville any more. I figured if he had died and his wife was still there then she would have been listed but she wasn't there either. It seems they were only in Leadville for a few years. Hope that helps a little.
