    3. Hi Gary Just a long shot, but I have a Sarah Hills married to James W. Crouse in Illinois in 1864. Sarah needs confirmation for my connection but I know James, at least, ended up in Colorado (d. Colorado <1880). I assume they both (Sarah and James made the trip to Colorado. I know close to nothing about Sarah and her family at this point. As often happens, she may have been accompanied to Colorado by other Hills in her family who I have not identified. Let me know if you see any connections. As far as location in Colorado goes, I have this Crouse line (represented by James' son Harry) near Colorado Springs (Black Forest), Cannon City, Texas Creek, Howard, and Salida through 1900. Nothing in Lake County as far as I know. I also have Paynes but none carrying that name to Colorado (Alcy Payne [b. 1742 VA] married Heflin. Her granddaughter, Aisly, ended up in Colorado married to a Rice.). Good luck, Rick Rice Seattle Researching in Colorado: Van Valkenburg, Briggs, Crouse, Caughman, Bassham, Blue, Heflin, Rice, Erickson, Bankson (Bengtsson), Sahl, Koch -----Original Message----- From: Gary Barnes [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, December 08, 2000 9:18 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [COLAKE] Roll Call MY Names for the roll call--- ANYTHING will help BARNES FRANCIS HILLS PAYNE CRAMER SAMPSON FREEMAN MENDENHALL THx to any of you who reply.
