Here in Knockainey and Lough Gur we have just signed up to the Ireland Reaching Out project, which is basically doing ancestry research in reverse; we look for descendants of those who have left here, and invite them back for a Week of Welcomes in June.The IRO website is launching tonight actually; look at www.irelandxo.com. This is a national project, and we really hope to bring lots of our diaspora home, at least temporarily! Have you contact details for other ex Knockainey people? It would be great if you had, and you could ask them to contact us. We have a community office here,staffed by John and Anne Marie, and they'll be co-ordinating the week of welcomes event.
