A couple of summers ago, I was at the Lake County Court House in Leadville. They have the records of the mines and all the information when they legally changed hands. Everyone there was very helpful and knowledgeable. If you write to them and tell them what you want, they will tell you how much it costs and if they have it. They will let you look through the books if you go there and make the copies. The cost of copies is very reasonable. The room is not very big so if you plan a trip, go early in the morning. I hope this helps, Sheree' PS They have lots of other information that most court houses do not have. They have funeral cards from one of the old funeral homes that went out of business. ----- Original Message ----- From: Frank Sellers To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, April 03, 2001 10:20 PM Subject: [COLAKE] Col.
