Hi Gail & Carol, When I was at the county court house in Leadville. They have some of the old funeral home records there. I was able to look at the funeral cards for one of the homes. I was able to get some good information from the cards. I had to ask for them. She was born April 1, 1948 in Galesburg, Ill. She moved to Leadville about 14 years ago. She worked for St. Vincent General Hospital in the medical records department and, more recently, in medical records for Vail Valley Medical center. Although she spent much of her time working, in her off hours she enjoyed spending time with her daughter Minday and close friends. She is survived by her parents Ray and Betty Swanson, Plant, Fla.; daughter Mindy Haskins, Leadville; brother Duane (Susan) Swanson, Mason, Ohio; nieces Abby and Cassidy Swanson; and nephew Matt Swanson, all of Mason, Ohio; and her close friend Jim Hite. Memorial services were held Jan 14 at the First United Presbyterian Church of Leadville. The Reverend Tom Abbott officiated. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Hite, Jeremy Hartzell and John McCrew. Following the service, the family received friends at the Elks Lodge. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Vail Valley Home Health and Mountain Hospice, 181 W. He was born in Dunkerton, Iowa on Sept. 11, 1918 to Dudley J. and Ann H. (Hazel) Perry. He went to school in Dunkerton and, following his high school graduation, he attended Chilicothy Business School. He then entered the United States Army Air Corp, serving in the Air Corp from 1941 to 1950. Then he reenlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served there from 1957 to 1969, when he retired. After his service to his country, he moved to Colorado where he was a partner in the K.O.A. Aqua Ramon Camp Ground in Del Norte. In 1975, he and his first wife, Mary B. Smitherman, purchased the Mt. Royal Motel in Frisco and ran it for 10 years before selling it in 1985. They then moved to Leadville where he retired. She died in 1988 On July 1, 1992 he married the former Naomi (Deulen) Fillmore. Together they enjoyed many trips. He loved the mountains, especially walking in them. He also enjoyed skiing, golfing and was an avid sports fan. One of his favorite pastimes was watching baseball games. He served as the chaplain of the Leadville V.F.W. Post #859 and was also a member of A.A.R.P. and active with the Senior Center. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Mary; and brothers Cecil and Kenneth. He is survived by his wife Naomi Perry, Leadville; daughter Cheryl A. (Gary) Dove, Los Osos, Calif., sons Dr. R. Michael Perry, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Albert N. Perry, Loveland; and William R. (Darlene) Perry, in San Luis Obispo, Calif.; setpdaughter Debbie (Ed) Acre, Leadville; step-son David (Patricia) Fillmore, Springfield, Mo.; sisters Mary Jane (Walter) Russell, Aurora; and Georgia (Sam) Rusco, Newaygo, Mich. He is also survived by six grandchildren, three step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. The service was held April 7 at the First United Presbyterian Church in Leadville. The Reverend Tom Abbott officiated and Lizabeth Firestone sang accompanied by Lynette Boothe. Pallbearers were Michael, Bert and Bill Perry, Ed Acre, Jim-Ed Acre and Angelo Pascetti. Interment was in the Masonic Cemetary with a committal by the V.F.W. Post #859. Following the interment, the family received friends at a reception at the Senior Center. Arrangements were handled by Bailey Funeral Home.

Taylor, 65, died March 31 at St. Vincent General Hospital, Extended Care Unit. He was born in Dolores, Colo. on Oct. 13, 1935 to John W. and Layuonne (Buett) Taylor. After graduating from high school, he entered the United States Army and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. After receiving an honorable discharge, he went back to Colorado where he became a miner working for the Climax Molybdenum Co. He married the former Barbara Haney and together they raised three childred. He retired from Climax and then spent some of his spare time fishing and hunting. He was an avid collector of knives and firearms. But the way he loved spending most of his time was enjoying the company of his children, grandchildren and eventually his great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife Barbara, who died in 1994. He is survived by daughters Sherry (Bob) Boyce and Nancy (Marc), all in Mathis, Texas; son John W. Taylor; sisters Betty Lou Howard, Hayward, Calif.; and Joanne Powell, Farmington, N.M. He is also survived by four grandchildred and four great grandchildren. According to his wishes, he was cremated and his ashes were scattered over his wife's grave in St. Joseph Cemetery in Leadville. Arrangements were handled by Bailey Funeral Home.

She is also survived by her brothers Wayne Johnson, Oregon; John D. (Beth) Johnson, Salt Lake City; and Ralph Johnson, Moab, Utah; sisters Mildred Jones, Vernal, Utah; Ida Hurst, Blanding, Utah; and Melva (Don) Christiansen, Salida; and 19 grandchildred and 14 great grandchildren.
