Hi I believe that Leonard Whinnerah is buried at Leadville Colorado and would appreciate help in finding the date of his death and his age at the time. also any other Whinnerah's listed Yours Mike Whinnerah
My great-grandmother, Catherine Devlin Farrell, also died in October of 1918 as did many other individuals. This was during the Influenza Epidemic. My public library was able to use interlibrary loan to obtain a microfilm of the newspaper the Carbonate Weekly Chronicle. I am also looking for an obit or grave site for Agnes DUFFY COSE unknown what time frame. She was still alive in the 1920 Federal Census for COLO and living with her husband Fred in Precinct 9. I have copies of the "Who's Where in Leadville" for Evergreen Cemetery. However I only have the letters L-Z. I also have the complete cemetery book for the Catholic Cemetery. These are the old books that the Library has. I have looked up the name PERHAJ and do not find it in either of the books. If you have any others you would like looked up, let me know. I was wondering how you can respond so quickly with specifics!I am researching family line of PERHAJ, date of arrival in Leadville 1901. Wondering if you have Jakoc or Janus PERHAJ on your listings.Extended family members attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church. As far as we have been able to figure out, there were only 3 lines of Perhaj's to the U.S. If you have this surname ,good chance they are ours. Thanks much! Michael, Would you please check that book you have to see if any members of the Records family are buried in Evergreen, other than the father of the family William P. Records. Information I found in William's pension file indicate he had a wife named Zerilda, and four children: F. E. Records, C.W. Records, Minter Records, and Mattie Records. William P. Records is apparently buried in the GAR section of the Evergreen Cemetery, in Block 5, Lot 129. I've "rescued" the following group of old family photographs which were all owned by the same person at some point in time though I don't know what the connection might be, they are: #1 - J. Herman TRUEMAN taken August 16, 1887 at Leadville, Colorado, subject appears to be 9-11 years of age at the time #2 - Mabel TRUEMAN daughter of J. Herman & Lillie TRUEMAN, no date or location, probably taken in the early 1900's when Mabel was about 1 year old #3 - Agnes B. TRUEMAN taken in Boston, MA on January 7th 1886 at age 1 year #4 - Henry Oscar TRUEMAN taken in Boston, MA on March 30th 1892 at age 3 years #5 - Charley WADE taken in Walden, NY, probably taken in the 1890's sometime #6 - Mary BARR taken in Lafayette, Indiana on June 19th, 1888, Mary appears to be in her late teens or early 20's at the time I'd like to return the photographs to family if possible. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

Sean, There were lots of Murray's who live in Buena Vista, Chaffee County. It is right next to Lake county. You may try there. St. Joseph's and Annunciation Church have been combined into the Catholic Community of Leadville. The office for them is in the old rectory for Annuncation and is located at 609 Poplar Street. People who wish to make contact in advance might use that address to make arrangements for research. I do not know the telephone number but I am sure it can be found via information or the internet. Kathy is the secretary there. Good luck on your research Ed Kelly
Marie, is it Donaher with and "a" or "o" ? My Great Grandfather's name was Peter Donaher from County Sligo, Ireland. Do you have any info on your Peter Donaher ? Ted Donaher
Looking for any information about Duncan McKeller Whyte, Sr. b. 1827-28 in Greenock, Renfewshire, Scotland. Married Janet Allan. Had ten children. ( 9 in Scotland & 1 in America). Brought family to America around 1867, first to St. Louis, MO and then settling in the Leadville, Denver areas around 1875. Children's names are: Catherine Whyte Duncan McKeller Whyte, Jr. Thomas Whyte Margaret Isabella Whyte John McDonald Whyte William Wallace Whyte George Washington Whyte Joseph Garibaldi Whyte Samuel Watson Whyte Duncan McKeller Whyte, Sr. was the Greenback nominee for lieutenant governor of Colorado in 1884 and one of the organizers of the Knights of Labor movement. He was a baker in Scotland and may have gone into the printing business in C0. There are some land records establishing his claim in Colorado called "PAY DIRT". Many of the children were politically active, and I beleive some were actually elected to legislative postitions. Some records have the name spelled erroneously as "White". Anybody with information on any "Whyte's", in Colorado, please respond. Cat Whyte
Gail, When you see Kathy(Great idea to add her to the list) ,would you ask her if she would mind if when I visit St. Joseph's I ask for her, or call ahead to see if she would be willing to help me access records at the church??I am planning a trip to Leadville in August, and wanted to make sure and spend time at the church. Denise Perhay(researching Anton(Tony)PERHAJ, Johanna(Jennie) PERHAJ, Pauline PERHAJ in Leadville 1910-1917) Savage, Minnesota P.S. I absolutely agree and support that researchers donate to the Church for their time and assistance
Guess I had better get my camera's out and ready.... I will see Kathy on Friday as the parish is letting us use tables and chairs for out "All School Alumni Picnic" on the 14th. I will also ask Kathy if she will join us on the mail list. Maybe that will be a good way to extract more records out of the church records. I only ask, as I am sure you already to, when you ask for records from any church, it is always nice to send a donation to the church. Gail
Would Kathy - or you - be able to tell me where to search next for my great-uncle James Griffiths, who with his family is in the 1880 Census as in the Breece Hill census district. I'd love to know how he got on next! But Australia is too far away for me to consult useful-type libraries! Any ideas, Kathy and researchers? Lois (in Canberra)
diddo Kathy Michlich. I have a baptismal gown which my paternal grandparents used for their children, and which has been used for all but one of their descendants. Im in the precess of creating a book of certificates to be passed along with the gown and added to as the gown is used, generation to generation, and Kathy helped me get started with many of the certificates.
