    1. [COLAKE] Thomas Douglas Harl / Harle
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: courtneyoles Surnames: Harl / Harle Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.colorado.counties.lake/1014/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Having trouble locating my grgrgrandfather in 1885 Colorado census...think I need a 'fresh' set of eyes to take a look for me. :) What I know: Thomas Douglas Harle, b.1862 in Iowa. Married Emma Darling (b. 1859, Iowa) on 1 Jan 1883 in Leadville, CO. Children: Pearl D (1885), William Douglas (1887), Dawn Elizabeth (1889), Levicus Sidney (1892), Harriet Maude (1894), and Thomas Alden (1897). Thomas D. died in Leadville on 5 Feb 1900 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery (as are Pearl, d.1896, & Dawn, d.1895). I did locate him in 1885 Leadville City Directory (freighter, r. 132 W. Elm) but no luck in the Census. Also, regarding child Pearl...this is the name on the Cemetery Record, but I am not sure this was her correct name. There is a death notice in the 1 Apr 1896 Leadville Evening Chronicle (last page, bottom of column two), but it is very difficult to read. Could sure use another's opinion on what her name was. Thanks so much for your time and assistance! Jeri Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My suggestion is to go through those and contact the specific counties where you see a John Cummings. The one I found in our Leadville 1885 Colorado Special census is from Ireland, although he is the right age. Good Luck! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. He was living with his family untill 1880. I did find him living in Missouri in 1880. I have 3 clues to where he might have lived. In a Bio about his father it said living somewhere in Colorao. Then in 1903 when is sister died it said he was living somwhere out west. When his mother said it said she had two surving sons. Micheal and Thomas which means he passed away. I am thinking he have seatled some where in Colorado. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. They were part of Ward number1, Precinct No 2, Ed District 33-2, Superviosors District 6 Sheet 1B. Frank is listed as the head of household living at 618 Elm street, 55years with Annie F 45 years, Rudolph 20 years, Tony J 18 years, and Angela M 14years. Frank is listed as a laborer in the smelter, born in Yugloslavia, speaks German immigrated 1901. Annie is listed as born in Yugloslavia, speaks German & immigrated in 1902. Children born in Colorado. There was also a John Propernick & his family listed on page 3B, same everything else as Frank living at 530 West Second Street. John is 51, immigrated 1905, born Yugloslavia, speaks German and also a laborer in the smelter. His wife, Mary, 46, born & speak same, immigrated 1911. Children John J 19, Angela J 16, Thony J 13, Fritz(?)8 were all born in CO. If I had to guess, I think that Frank & John were brothers and both were married before they came to the USA. I hope this helps. Sheree' Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
