    2. Cindy, You will have to remind me. Were the Bradys in the Evergreen or St. Joes? email me at the library genealogy@bresnan.net and I will look when I get to work. Janice From: C Sullivan <c_lion@purringfox.com> To: slyasafox14k@aol.com; colake@rootsweb.com Sent: Wed, Jul 22, 2009 12:30 am Subject: [COLAKE] Leadville Visit Hi Janice, I will be back up in Leadville sometime during my visit to Colorado. My cousin's daughter works inj Leadville so I am sure I can get a ride up there with her for a couple days to do more research. Were you able to find the grave of Edward Brady Jr, who died in 1901 I believe at the age of 20 or 21 from a ruptured appendix? I hunted when I was there and could not find it in the cemetery. I know where Margaret, Edward, Sr and Thomas Brady, I think it is Thomas - can you tell I do not have my records open? I am hoping to find his grave this time and clean it up if needs be. Are they selling the book about Minturn anywhere in town? I need to make sure and pick it up this time. I just missed it last time, the town hall closed before I got there. Looking forward to seeing you again. Do you know who owns the old ice house behind the library? Thought i might research the ownership and see if it is my GGrandmother's family. Would that be at the courthouse? ~~Cindy Sullivan ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to COLAKE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

Acutally, there were many mininig towns surrounding Leadville, some close by and small and some rather large. Kokomo, Carbonateville, Adelide Park, Dayton or Twin Lakes, Malta, Stumpftown, Ibex City and many more, many people moved to Red Cliff and Aspen. Some people lived up at the mines they worked for, in boarding houses. They wouldn't have been in the Leadville City Directories. He could have gone anywhere. You can try: www.coloradohistoricnewspapers.org You can search old newspapers from all over Colorado. Good Luck. Janice P.S. We had a fund raiser at the Tabor Opera House last week. I presented a slide show on Historic Leadville. We raised around four thousand dollars. The money will all go to digitize more of our own historic newspapers. My great great grandfather was a miner who over the course of 30 years moved to at least 5 different mining towns, all of them were far from each other. I think the miners were always just moving on looking for something better. Even if you found a William Nelson in another directory there is no way of proving it is your William.
