As far as I know there is no one on the mail list who can do any lookups in Leadville at this time. You would have to check with the LDS on any films that maybe available but as far as I know obits are on film but only available in Denver and Leadville. Is this not correct, Mike? Gail
Posted on: Lake Co. Co Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Co/Lake/258 Surname: PHILLIPS, SCOTT ------------------------- Thanks! When you are looking around and happen to run into a Charles SCOTT, I'd love to hear about it. I'm having a great deal of difficulty with the SCOTT and PHILLIPS side of my family. I know the PHILLIPS must be abundent around LAKE CO. If you find any connection to the PHILLIPS in either LAKE or EAGLE Counties, I'd love to know. Thanks a bunch!!
If possible could someone please look-up an obit or death certificate for Joseph Mansheim who died at age 35 on Sept. 10, 1901. He is buried in St. Joseph's cemetery in Leadville. Supposedly he was murdered by his wife's "lover." Would like to confirm this fact. Joanna Ahrendt >

Scott and his family were in Lake Co., Leadsville during the same time period. It's interesting to think they probibly knew each other. I know that Ira ended up in Denver with his wife Mary & son Harry and she lived there while he worked different mines as a molder. Now while I'm looking around there at least I'll know who Charles is. Take care and happy hunting. Thank-you Marsha
Posted on: Lake Co. Co Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Co/Lake/254 Surname: SCOTT, PHILLIPS ------------------------- Sorry, but I don't believe you've found the SCOTT connection, as my grandfather (Charles SCOTT) or great grandfather (as legend goes) changed his name from a Scott MCFADDEN to SCOTT, dropping the MCFADDEN. I don't know his birth info, only his death info, which was in 1910. The PHILLIPS was a family in the LAKE County (Leadville) and EAGLE County area of approx. 20 children. I was hoping since that family was so large, there might be someone out there researching it also. My grandmother was a Charlotta/Charlotte/Carlotta/Lotta PHILLIPS, daughter of J. PHILLIPS. This time frame is 1880 - 1910. I guess it is possible Celestia might have married one of my PHILLIPS and moved back east, but I don't have any of the PHILLIPS links, so I can't help you at this time. I shall keep your names in mind, though as I continue my search. Thank you!
