Eliza or Liza Coker was the daughter of Dempsey Coker and Margaret (Polly Ellison) of Yazoo county, MS Dempsey and Polly were in MS by 1820. There are numerous land records that show them both signing. Polly was the duaghter of Johnathan Ellison and his wife Susan Poore. I have e xtensive information about the Ellisons but can trace Dempsey no further back. He is said to have come from SC. I have some theories but no proof. At this very moment I cannot find my Coker book which contains all my research, but it's here somewhere. The Liza that I have was born around 1830. Joy in Alabama
