Issac Coker is my ggg-grandfather. He left Elbert County in the 1820's, along with all of his sons -- James, Elisha, Henry, John and William. I don't think your James F. Coker is a grandson of Issac. He is probably the grandson of one of Issac's brothers -- Abraham, Jacob or Malachi. I'm pretty sure he is not related to Abraham, as his two sons moved to Kentucky, so your most likely suspects are Jacob and Malachi. Issac Coker did have a grandson named James F. Coker. He was my great-grandfather (a son of Henry Coker). He was born in Upson County, GA in 1836 and lived in Sumter County, GA from 1842 until his death in 1899. He was in the 11th Georgia Artillery Battalion, CSA. I don't have my records handy, but I think Jacob Coker may have had a grandson named James who was the son of his son Newell. There are a bunch of Jacob Coker descendants out there who are on this list, so they should be able to help.
