Could the E be for Emory? Mary Coker Summerville died in Griffin and was born probably around the 1860's or so. Emory Spear was her only child. Her parents were supposed to have a great deal of indian blood. I think that she had a brother. I know that she was very tough and liked to either drink or make moonshine. This was straight from the lips of my 93 year old great aunt Mary Lee Elzoria Coker Minter (another Mary). I wish I knew more but I can't help but think that Emory was a family name.
