Coker. . but the year is wrong... he was the younger brother of my father (who was born in 1918.) So my J.C. was probably born around 1921 or so. Thought maybe would give an idea for you. JC was named after my grandfather "James C Coker. (I heard once they called him (grndfather) J.C. also- as his father was James Coker . Maybe look under James C Coker for your ancestor.
Thank you so much. I think the years are wrong. My J.C.Coker (Joseph Columbus) Sr. was born in 1903. His grandfather Robert T. is where I am hitting a brick wall. I know he was born in Al. in 1797. He was married to a Mary Rose Williams. He died in Hinds Co., Mississippi in 1857 and is buried in Raymond, Ms. I don't know more then this. I really appreciate your help and if you happen to run across him in your research, please let me know.
