    1. Re: [Coker] Alphin Lee 'Charley' Coker
    2. I found my notes. I'm thinking that the G. B. COKER in the 1850 Choctaw Co., AL census is Green Berry COKER. The online trees show that he married Juriah GRIMES in 1845 and that their children are the ones listed in the 1850 Choctaw Co., AL census. However, that is not logical as Jeremiah is only 11 years younger than Green and James and Seborn were born before the marriage. Of course, James and Seaborn could be children by a first wife. Also in Choctaw Co. in 1850 is James W. COKER, age 49, b. SC, with wife Milly and children Young, Henry D., Matilda, Wm. S., Margaret and Fremont. G. B. lives at HH #198 and James W. lives at HH #190 so there could be a connection. Is anyone familiar with this family? I'll search the archives and see what I can find. I don't have access to any of the COKER publications that have been mentioned in the message boards. I'm thinking that they deal with the SC COKERS. Following is the family of Green COKER in the 1860 Choctaw Co., AL census. I have often wondered if the child listed as 'O' is actually 'A' for Alphin. Alphin COKER was paroled to Davis Co., TX (Davis Co. was Cass Co. from 1861 to 1871) after the Civil War so it could be him. Also, Cass Co., TX borders Union Parish, LA which is where Alphin is living in the 1870, 1880 and 1900 censuses. 1860 U.S. Census - Texas - Cass Co. - Beat 1 - Linden P.O. 3. In 1850& 1860 don't assume they all are children. I think he is a brother? Kind of keep a question on who he is? I don know for sure either???? I usually find the lost individuals off the beaten path with some irregularities.
