Joseph's family was in Bexar Co by 1854. The James Coker family stayed in the Cherokee Co area. Joseph and James Coker were in Talladega AL 1840 census, but gone by 1850.
Hi Bob, Thanks for the clarification. Did the son Joseph remain in Bexar County, Tx.? Have you made any connection to the Coker family in neighboring Comanche Co., Texas? They descended from a Robert Coker and Elizabeth who were in Georgia. Elizabeth, said to be a widow, moved with some of her sons to Comanche Co., Texas. The Joseph Coker in the 1850 census in Cherokee County had a son Franklin born in Tennessee studying medicine. Do you know his birthplace in Tennessee?
