I don't have any firm data on Franklin other than birth 1831 and marriage in Cherokee Co TX to Susan Trimble Oct 18, 1855. I don't have a death date or location or children. But then I didn't research that group as diligently as I did Joseph's family. James had a son named Andrew Jackson Coker who was a doctor. He was a doctor in the Civil War. Andrew also had 4 wives. Surnames were McCaller, McCracken, Ragsdale and Gray - between 1855 - 1883. As far as Commance Co TX, I have not researched those Cokers. Do you have their names? The Coker name was pretty well spread around, so they probably are not related.

    3. My mistake, you are correct that the father of Franklin was James Coker. The 1850 census states that Franklin was studying medicine and born in Tennessee. I can send you a report on Robert and his family or a gedcom as an attachment if you are interested. I have not worked on the Coker family in several months so my memory of the family is not current. We share a common interest in that my ancestor, William Coker was born in Laurens County, South Carolina. Dwight, I believe that I sent you a report on Robert Coker etc. Do you still have the report to forward to Bob? Otherwise I will have to recreate. Thanks.
