We would like to legitimately make a connection to the COKER or BURNS line. The young Melissa BURNS above is my 3-g grandmother and was married the next year. In December of 1851, my 3-g grandpa, William F.M. ALLEN married Malissa or Melissa BURNS in Talladega Co. AL. They had many issues, of which the first two were born in AL and the third (my 2-g grandmother) and the rest of the children were born in Texas.
