If you have been working on this for years I don't know if I will have any luck; I have this family group record from the Mormon site that says he was born in Tuscaloosa on 12 May 1832; I don't know the source. The family ID # is 7703949. Anyway 9 children are listed as all being born in Tuscaloosa. Do you have other census records for Asa Coker, if so where do they say he was born and where was he in 1860 and 1870? His wife is listed as Amanda Melvina JOHNSON, daughter of Clarence Daniel JOHNSON and Celia Adeline COLE. Amanda is from Pulaski, Giles, TN, is this correct information? I do need to evaluate the James Coker in Tuscaloosa and Jefferson Counties because I have a missing James from about 1840 until 1880.
