Is this the James Coker (Peyton2, Thomas1) was born September 26, 1826 in Mississippi, and died January 22, 1884 in Leesville, TX.. He married Reebecca Ann Bonner Bet. 1844 - 1874, daughter of Jordan Bonner and Mary Adams. She was born August 10, 1828 in Alabama, and died Bet. 1880 - 1922 in Leesville, TX.. Dwight, Was Rebecca BONNER married more than once? The 1850 census shows a Rebeca (sic) BANKS living with Jordan and Mary BONNER. Is she their daughter or another relative? Since she is listed where the oldest child is usually listed and not at the end of the family, I would think that she is perhaps their widowed daughter. Also, the 1860, 1870 & 1880 census' show James and Rebecca COKER with a daughter, Nancy, born abt 1848. Where did she come from? Is she a daughter of James' from a first marriage? I'm still looking for James, son of Peyton, in the 1850 census. Can you tell me when and where Peyton COKER was born and the name of his wife to help me in my search? I'm trying to find the parents of Alphin Lee 'Charley' COKER b. abt 1840 in GA or AL so am investigating COKER's in those areas. Thanks!
