Coker, 70, of Frisco, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2005 at the Presbyterian Hospital of Plano. He was born on October 26, 1934 in Dallas the son of James, Sr. and Ruby Blanchard Coker. He served his country in the National Guard and spent 38 years as a firefighter. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, John P. Coker in 1992. Mr. Coker is survived by his wife, Carol Coker of Frisco; two sons, James D. Coker of Jackson, Mississippi; and Brian K. Coker of McKinney; daughter, Kelley Jo Stebbins of Lewisville; eight grandchildren; brother, Gary Coker of Tioga, Texas; and sister, Linda Nix of Fairview, Texas. He is also survived by a host of other extended family and close friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 20, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Dalton & Son Funeral Home of Lewisville with Chaplain Mark Chambers officiating. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Memorial Park in Dallas. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2005 from noon until 3:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.
