    3. Hi Beth , Hope you had a great Christmas , looking through old notes and was wondering what films in Pike Co. have you not viewed yet . I'm going to look at some Talladega County films also after the New Year . I'll feel much better finishing up the films in Talladega Co. and Pike as well as Evergreen . The Pike Co. Thomas and Nathaniel Coker is a must to follow up on , this has put another wall in my research , you are going to be a great Genealogist , your always keep me going on my family line of research . I still hope to fine proof of a connection to your family descendants. Maybe I'll find something in the viewing of the films that could pull our families together . You know the 1840 we know there was a Nathan Coker in Coosa County , was he in Pike County in 1830? Well guess I'll cut this e-mail short . Have a great weekend! The source for this information is microfilm #LGM 45- Reel #1, Orphans Court Minutes-1844 Jan - 1845 - June. This is the State of Alabama Archives number. Pike County, Alabama. pages 13, 100, 351, 364, 371, 394, 395, 423 & 424. Entries start on 29 March 1844. > > Summary of data: William B. Darby was the former administrator of the estate of Thomas Coker, he died and James M. Thompson became the administrator debonias non gr. The securities were Oliver P. Smilie and Stephen S Smilie. The wife of William B. Darby was Amanda Darby. Land mentioned was 121.88 acres in Pike County, Alabama. This land corresponds to land purchased by a Nathaniel Coker in Pike County in the 1830's exactly except that one direction is off. It appears to be the same land and I probably copied the information incorrectly, it is the exact same amount and Section, Township and Range are identical. > > Thomas Coker's heirs were Mary Ann Coker now Mary Ann Williams wife of Nehemiah Williams & the following minors to wit: John Caleb, Martha, a female, Permelia, a female, Thomas and Susannah a female. Not known if his wife was still living or the relationship to Nathaniel, further research necessary. > > Anyone with connections to this family please contact me at [email protected] . > > Thanks, > Beth > > ==== COKER Mailing List ==== > Coker Message Archives > http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/Coker/ > > ============================== > Visit Ancestry's Library - The best collection of family history > learning and how-to articles on the Internet. > http://www.ancestry.com/learn/library
