I my 13 year search into my Coker family I have come accross 37 different way's too spell Coker . Quite often the the difference is just an incorrect entry by the person recording the information . Just within my family there are 7 different way's to spell Coker, & all within the past 150 years! So there is a great posibility that your John Coker/Croker are the same person ! You can look for thing's like his recorded date of birth (if it is with-in a 5 year area ) the names of him parent's as recorded in the records, & the place of birth with in a 1 state area ...
