Coker, second son of Henry Clinton Coker and Julia Haygood Coker, says he was shot at City Hall in Stamford, TX (or maybe the courthouse steps in Anson, TX) in a dispute over water rights. He died Aug 31, 1918.This info comes from a daughter of older brother, Thomas Clinton Coker. His father, Henry Clinton, is my g-grandfather on my Mother's side. Nick is buried at Bethel Baptist Cem., Funston, Jones CO, TX. I have him married first to Jesse Jackson. Do you know where he was born or married?
