What I have have been trying to say is that the death certificate is official record. Unless the birth certificate can be found there is no other record the can over power the death certificate. No family member can just say that it is wrong they must have physical proof. There is to much misinformation circulating, we have to have proof if its available. Do you have an FTM or a GEDCOM file on the Coker family that you would be willing to share with the grandson of Peyton? I have located some census records back to Robert's family in 1850 but lose the track beyond that. David on the Pontotoc County message board found for me the burial site for Mattie Robbins Coker, b.9/15/1870-d.12/02/1943. She is buried at Shady Grove Cemetery in Pontotoc County. The step-grandson who is looking for her burial site went into the Navy in (probably summer) 1943 and was likely in a combat zone in the South Pacific when she died. I later found their listing in the Union County marriage records. Don't know how I missed it earlier.
