I don't have any firm data on Franklin other than birth 1831 and marriage in Cherokee Co TX to Susan Trimble Oct 18, 1855. I don't have a death date or location or children. But then I didn't research that group as diligently as I did Joseph's family. James had a son named Andrew Jackson Coker who was a doctor. He was a doctor in the Civil War. Andrew also had 4 wives. Surnames were McCaller, McCracken, Ragsdale and Gray - between 1855 - 1883. As far as Commance Co TX, I have not researched those Cokers. Do you have their names? The Coker name was pretty well spread around, so they probably are not related.

    3. Hi Bob, Thanks for the clarification. Did the son Joseph remain in Bexar County, Tx.? Have you made any connection to the Coker family in neighboring Comanche Co., Texas? They descended from a Robert Coker and Elizabeth who were in Georgia. Elizabeth, said to be a widow, moved with some of her sons to Comanche Co., Texas. The Joseph Coker in the 1850 census in Cherokee County had a son Franklin born in Tennessee studying medicine. Do you know his birthplace in Tennessee?
