I'm sorry, I really don't know where they are from. It seems all of the records are all gone. I really don't know what records to try to look for or where. My grandfather was a Calvin Coker born in Arkansas in 1846 or 47. Those before him were from Tennessee and I don't know their names.
Hi, about 6 weeks ago or so, some kind soul sent me info on Leonard Coker - his children, father, grandfather and so on. I had just been to a family reunion and a cousin kept at me until I just copied and sent her the copy - not realizing I would 'lose' that person's name and without it, I can not find the info again. I just got my computer back from the shop - and now I want the info for me - and don't find it. How dumb is it? Well, I am just old and forgetful!! Dicey is my connection and I said I would send them that info - well, now if I can't remember who! I found the following obituary in a microfilm of The Honey Grove citizen, Friday Morning, January 18, 1929. Honey Grove is a town in Fannin Co., Texas. Hope this helps someone. As far as I know these are not my Coker family. Susan Hudspeth [email protected] MRS. O. C. COKER BURIED HERE The body of Mrs. O. C. COKER, was brought to this city from Texarkana, yesterday afternoon (Thursday) and laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery. Mrs. COKER having passed away on Tuesday, according to the message received here. Mrs. COKER formerly lived, with her family, on the ROWTON farm, north of Honey Grove, but following the death of her husband several months ago, moved to Dierks, Ark. She was about 40 years of age at her death and was an excellent woman, and a devoted member of the Methodist Church. She is survived by two sons. The funeral services were held at the Methodist church in this city yesterday, afternoon at 2 o'clock, the service being conducted by Rev. E. H. COSTON, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, following which the body was laid to rest in Oakwood, a large number of friends being present at the services. The Citizen joins with friends in extending sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
