    2. Doesn't sound like my uncle Otis. He was born in 1881 or 82 in Texas and moved to OK. I don't think that was him but Otis is an uncommon name and there might be some connection.

    3. Hi Dwight, Saw your post and thought I would reply. I live here in Jackson (Hinds County just South of Madison) though I am originally from Texas and am not related to the Mississippi Cokers. My family came to Texas from Tennessee around 1900. They were in Giles Co Tn in 1860 and prior to that Alabama (I think). My gr gr grandfather was Asa Keely Coker b 5/12/1832 Tuscaloosa. Anyway i digress. I have seen the graves you site. They lie next to an old Episcopal Church in a beautiful setting. I know some of the Cokers here in Mississippi. One family that may know about these is that of Curtis Coker or his son Richard. Curtis Coker is a prominent attorney here in Mississippi and a partner of the firm Daniel, Coker, Horton and Bell. Perhaps he could give you some info. Good luck! 2. No, those names don, t ring a bell. I don't know where in Tennessee they came from. I am at a dead end. It seems the older generation kept no records and so many went by nick names and became known by their nick names, now nobody knows anything.

    3. I think I saw somewhere that this Henry Coker was the son of Newell Coker and Catherine Cunningham Coker. Newell was the son of Jacob Coker, brother of my ggg-grandfather Issac Coker. Issac and Jacob were the sons of Joseph and Mildred Coker of Chatham County, NC. Abraham and Malachi were also brothers of Issac and Jacob. All settled in Elbert County, GA around 1790, with exception of Jacob who came from Surry County, NC after 1800. I'll double check my records. >On 16 Dec 2001 22:03:47 -0700 [email protected] wrote. >This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > >Classification: Query > >Message Board URL: > >http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/BVJ.2ACIB/954.1 > >Message Board Post: > >Hello Laura, > >My GGrandfather was Henry E.
