    3. Can you tell me where in TX you calvin moved to? I'm looking for some Cokers that may have been from either MO. or Arkansas. Their son, John Edward Coker married a Vanderpool in Denton Co. Texas in 1879. Does this possibly match with anything you have? ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, February 05, 2002 1:29 PM Subject: Re: [Coker] Re: Indian Coker family > No, I don't know where Calvin Coker was born in Ark but Calvin's father was > born in Tenn. and Calvin was born in Ark. 3. Do you know if he's supposed to be from North Central Arkansas--Boone, Marion counties etc.? I don't have a Calvin Coker in the Joseph Dempsey Coker family (the part that would be surely considered the Indian Cokers as Joseph joined the Cherokee Nation and some of his children descend from Cherokee women.) However, I don't have everyone figured out yet. I'll take a look through my stuff and see what I can find and post back in a couple of days. 3. I'm new to the list. My mother was Barbara Coker Roberts, who died 1/3/2002. I am taking the family research over from her. I don't know if I have anything of any use to anyone, but I have descendents of James Hendry Coker (son of Wesley Allen Coker, son of Daniel D Coker), as well as information on descendents of David Cutler Braddock.

    2. Let me know if you find anything interesting about Eliza Coker Gipson Wilcox. She was my grandmother. Her father was James Campbell Coker and mother Mary Adaline Richardson. Her life with my grandfather- James Campbell Wilcox was short and my father, according from what I've learned, was kidnapped as a baby and raised by his father and half-brothers and sisters. J.C. "Will" Wilcox was murdered and I have all the information from the newspapers about that when I was at the library in TN. I am curious to know J.C. Coker's parents etc. There is a file in the library that a man started but I think he died. It has death certificates of several Cokers in it. He called my mom years ago but my mom didn't get his name or number but he knew a lot about my father and his mother. Thank you so much!! Happy hunting!! Laura

However, I believe Fatha Ann was the daughter of Philip Coker, Jr. and I believe him to be the brother of my gggrandfather, John Wesley Coker. If you learn anything about the children of Fatha Ann, I would like to have this for my file. Good luck!!
