A few of you have written to me asking where you can get more information for you town pages. One thought I have is the Social Security Death Index. If you go to that on Rootsweb.com and use the advanced search engine you can type in the name and state of your town (no name) to see if you can pull up the deaths for that town. It is more recent but it will give you a basis to start putting some of your families together. Cut and paste them into your Word program so you can manipulate them however you'd like. Also, check the marriage records we have online, some of them tell where the person was from. Also if any of you are subscribed to Ancestry, try searching the AIS census index for your town. I think it goes back to 1850. For example I just pulled up 2,380 records for Rio Colorado, Taos County, NM. You can cut and paste these into your Word program and then separate them by family.
