Good morning list members! I got in late last night from a week in Denver and it's great to be home. I was so happy to be able to spend some time with my Mother, brother and sister again and the time away was fun but it's always nice to be home again. I have quite a few messages to answer so please bear with me until I get those caught up again. I love to see so many messages, it's so nice to hear from my researchers. So what have we got going on? I put up 22 new databases with extended marriage information and only got one response from it, so I guess I won't do that anymore. It takes a lot of time to build databases and then build the web pages to put them on but if no one uses the data it's pretty much a waste of my time. I wanted to get the whole thing online, from 1870 forward, instead of just the index that we have now, but if it's not warranted then .......oh well. So what would you like to see on the web page that will help you out with your research? You folks are going to have to give me some ideas here. Do you have anything special that you would like to see? I have a couple ideas for new projects that we can all work on, but I don't know what you want or need. What happened to all those interested people that said they would like to adopt a town? It sounded like we had some real interest going for that project but now that it's posted I'm not hearing from many of you. Isn't this what you wanted? I have a feeling that 9-11 really interrupted all of our lives, and I hope that's the only reason I'm not seeing much enthusiasm lately. But if there is another problem, please don't hesitate to bring it to my attention. I can't fix it if I don't know what's broke. This is the time of year when we see an upswing in activity on all the Lists, so let's get some communication rolling here. We have always had the most active List and right now the KY list is rolling all over us with activity. I haven't heard yet what 2002 was declared as, have any of you? I need to change my signature file. Hope to hear from all of you! Karen Karen Mitchell 2001 has been declared "The Year of "Love". Pass it on.
