Hi, I’m new to this list, so this is my first request for help. I’m researching the HARTMANN/ HOLTZ/ MUELLER/ MEOLLER Families from Germany & Iowa, USA. Wilhelmina (various spellings) HARTMANN imigrated to America, I don’t know when or on what ship. She was born 1833 Oathfresan, Hanover, Germany and married 1st to Fred HOLTZ in 1859 at Muscatine Co, Muscatine, Iowa, USA. I presume that it would have been around this time that she imigrated. They had two daughters Lena Lucy b 1860 and Lucy Rebecca b 1862. Fred died 1863 resulting from the Civil War and Wilhelmina remarried Charles John MUELLER/MOELLER at Muscatine, Iowa. This union resulted in four known children and probably could be five. They were Elizabeth, Lydia, Margaret & Charles Emanuel. Wilhelmena & Charles MOELLER are both buried in the Gardner Cemetery, Huerfano, Colorado, USA. as is Lucy & Eli MOCKMORE , and Elizabeth & Frederick GRIFFITH. I believe that I have a photo of Wilhelmina and two of her daughters, also a photograph sent to Australia and on the reverse side it mentions Maggie GRIBBLE, Lydia CLARK (Canada), Lucy MOCKMORE, Lizzie GRIFFITH & Lena ROCHE (not present). These are four cousins. If anyone knows anything about these families at all I would appreciate any help. How do I obtain death ceertificates from America, as I live in Australia and can some kind person tell me what information I could hope to find on a death certificate? Is there anyone who would be willing to photograph headstones in Gardner cemetery?? Looking forward to receiving heaps of replies. Many thanks in anticipation of a great result.
