Now this link is just interesting, given that so many of our forbears wandered back and forth among the coal camps;my grandmother told me stories of this time, and it disturbed her whole life; as a child, she saw a man shot by the militia for trying to leave one of the camps-imagine. The massacre aside (don't mean that in a frivolous manner), the pictures on this site are spellbinding--just to imagine how these people survived these camps--the guts and determinaton--and the funeral procession for Louis Tikas is awe inspiring--men in a line as far as one can see.
