    3. I just loaded an 1866 map of Colorado at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~cohuerfa/co_1866.jpg This will give you an idea of how big Huerfano County was at the time. It also explains why I am intent on adding other County data to our pages, especially Las Animas. That whole area was Huerfano at one time.     3. Exactly when was Las Animas incorporated at as a County? I looked at the county site to find this info but as usual the well is dry. It will be nice to have some info about Las Animas on the site. In wanderings across the vast web I have ran in to folks looking for info on ancestors from Las Animas and I have pointed them to Huerfano because iit is the only place I know of that has Las Animas info. What Happened to the reserve?
