    3. Hello Listers After a couple of failed attempts I have managed to subscribe to the list! A message did get through to Karen Mitchell though, who has kindly offered to check some records for me (thanks again Karen). To save Karen the trouble has any lister come across JOSEPH WINDLE GOODINSON in their research? This is the information that I have on him: Joseph was born in 1844 in Kilnhurst, Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England, the son of David and Elizabeth Goodinson (nee Windle). On the 1861 census he is shown as a mechanic. Joseph was in attendance when his father died in 1862. From his fathers will he received £20 for apprenticing to a trade and an additional £20 when he had served his apprenticeship for the purpose of him entering into business. A relative, also interested in family history, recalls seeing an old photograph of Joseph in a 'ranch style' setting. Joseph died on or around 3 December 1876, his will states: ".....Joseph Windle Goodinson late of Cucharas Colordo in the United States of America deceased, who died on or since the 3rd of December 1876 the place of his death being unknown...." Letters of Administration dated 26 August 1885, amounted to £96, 9s, 6d. Intestate was granted to Josephs brother, George Goodinson (my GG Grandfather) of Kilnhurst, South Yorkshire, England. Did Joseph use his inheritance to move to the States? What was happening in Cucharas in the 1860/70s to make Joseph choose this spot? Any idea of what might have happened to him?! Any information gratefully received. Helen Jones Rotherham South Yorkshire England
